Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop August 2011

Happy Summer Everyone, and Welcome to the Taylored Expressions August Blast from the Past Blog Hop!  This month's theme was Collector's Anonymous, to use up something we've been hoarding in our cupboard.  So I pulled out this great Doodlebug paper and embellishments I had, all from the cooking line.  I wanted to make some "thanks for dinner" cards--we were invited to a Block Party last month, and I discovered that a thanks for dinner card would have been great to have in my stash!

So I made a trio of thank you cards, used up some of my Doodlebug paper, but I still couldn't find a spot for those cute little embellishments, they just didn't seem to fit the card.  Maybe next time . . . .

I used Sankari's great sketch:

And here are my cards:
"Thanks for Dinner"

"Thank You to the Hostess with the Mostess! "

"With Friends Like You . . . . "

"Thanks for Dinner"

Stamps:  What's Cookin' (TE)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Stamper's Select White (PTI); Core'dinations, Baja Breeze (SU)

My daughters also had time to enter one last blog hop before school starts:

Her "Collector's Anonymous" was to pull out this paper she'd been saving . . . .
Stamps:  Garden Party Blooms (TE)
Ink:  Memento
Cardstock:  SU
Patterned Paper:  Making Memories

J's Card:  Celebrate
J's "Collector's Anonymous" was to raid the scrap box . . . .

Stamps:  Sweet Occasions (TE)
Ink:  Memento
Cardstock:  Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss , Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Accessories:  Buttons, Copic Markers

Now don't forget to check out what everyone else has been saving up:

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop April 2011

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop! This month's theme was "Clean & Simple."  We had a great sketch to use from Sankari--

The first thing I had to do was to go and look up the definition of CAS at Splitcoast Stampers, which said that clean and simple cards were all about the design, were uncluttered, had lots of white space, and one main focal point. I thought I remembered reading that they were also easy to mass produce, but I can't seem to find that part of the definition now! Uggh! Anyway, here is my attempt at a Clean and Simple Card:

Happy Mother's Day

And to prove it can be easily mass produced, I decided to make cards not only for my Mom, but my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law as well:

Stamps:  Garden Party Blooms, Garden Party Critters, Fresh Flowers (TE)
Ink:  Riding Hood Red (SU), Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky (Memento)
Cardstock:  Riding Hood Red (SU), Summer Sunrise, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  CTMH
Accessories:  Button (Doodlebug), Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Ribbon (SU)

My daughters wanted to play along this month as well.

My daughter J's card, Peace, Love, and Happiness
Stamps:  Feelin' Groovy (TE)
Ink:  Memento
Cardstock: Stampin Up
Accessories:  Copic Markers

My daughter K's card, Sending you Sunshine
Stamps:  Garden Party Blooms (TE)
Ink: Memento
Cardstock:  PTI

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog and checking out our creations!  I can't wait to go blog hopping myself and check out everyone's creativity!  The blog hop participants are listed below.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  For February, the challenge was to play with scallops.  I decided to be practical this month and combine this challenge with my daughter's birthday party Saturday--so the treat bags have some scallops!  I actually made 10 of these in all, here are two of them:

Party Time!

I used  the large PTI scallop border, then flipped it over and die cut again to make the scalloped strip, then added some ribbon.  I also used the Nestabilities Big Scallop Circles to cut the center piece, and of course I had to use Tiny Treats Birthday!  Here is a close up of my daughter's bag:
I added a twine bow and we had some goody bags!  I made each one different because I had to try out as many Tiny Treats images as possible!

Stamps:  Tiny Treats Birthday (PTI)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Kraft, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  American Girl (EK Success)
Accessories:  Ribbon, Twine (PTI); Copic Markers

Now my older daughter K (not the one having a birthday party tomorrow) also wanted to try the challenge:

Soaring By to Say Hi
She had so much fun making the scalloped grass!

Stamps:  Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Ink:  Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Cardstock:  Blueberry Sky, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream (PTI)
Accessories:  Buttons (PTI)

Thanks so much for stopping by our blog today!  I can't wait to hop and see everyone's creations (after the birthday party of course!)

Have a wonderful weekend!

I am so excited to be participating in the first Taylored Expressions Blog Hop of 2011!  This month's theme is Valentine's/Love, and I used Sankari's cool sketch:
I altered mine a bit, though, and turned the sketch on it's side and moved the bow.  Here is my card:

I Love You
Although it is hard to see, the pink heart is glittered!  I'm hoping to give this to my hubby for Valentine's day, hopefully he won't think it is too pink!

Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette (SU), New Leaf  and Stamper's Select White (PTI)

Waltzingmouse Stamps January Blog Waltz

Welcome everyone!  I am very excited to be participating in my second Blog Waltz!  January's theme was Valentine/Love, so I decided to use Half Pint Heroes and make a Valentine's card for my son (who is in kindergarten).  My daughter thought I was having too much fun, so she decided to make a card too!

Love You
I decided to use lots of blue (his favorite color) but have the rocket ship flying in a heart for Valentine's day.  And even though you can't see it, all of the stars have glitter on them as well.
Stamps:  Half Pint Heroes
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Bitty Stars (PTI)
Accessories:  Glitter (Stampin Up, Doodlebug), Rick Rack (CTMH)

Now here is my daughter K's card:
Nothing Warms the Heart Like an Old Friend
Stamps:  Sewing Box Hugs (WMS)
Ink:  Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Cardstock:  Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Fine Linen (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Michael's
Accessories:  Cricut Storybook

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I can't wait to see all the wonderful creations on the waltz, everyone always does such a wonderful job!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop August 2010

Welcome to the August Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!  To play along this month, you could use any Taylored Expressions stamp set from May 2010 or earlier, and there was an optional sketch.  I chose to do my own thing this month, because I'm getting ready (or at least trying to!) for Christmas.  Every year, I make several card sets to give as gifts--for my Mom, Mom-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, and my kids' teachers.  This Christmas, I've chosen the TE stamp set Sweet Occasions, and this cute paper pad Michael's had a while back called Chloe's Closet.  I had hoped to get a few cards done to show you, but with the kids home and going on vacation, we just have the beginning (but I'm happy to have started Christmas already in August!).

"Friend"

Stamps:  TE Sweet Occasions
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, PTI Tea Inks
Cardstock:  Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Chloe's Closet (MM)
Accessories:  Ribbon, Flower (MM), Rhinestones (Michaels), Copic Markers

The Sweet Occasions set also has these great sentiments--I chose to use them to embellish the inside of my card as well.  And since I had the Chloe's Closet paper in both the 6 X 6 pad and the 12 X 12 paper stack, I used the same print I used for the frame in Friend to line the inside of the envelope to make the card look I hope perfect for a gift:

My daughters wanted to play along as well in the Blog Hop, they just love Taylor's stamps:

Here is my younger daughter J's card, using the Sprinkled with Love Stamp set:

"Sprinkled with Love"

And my older daughter K's card, using the Make the Grade Stamp set:

"You're an A+ in my Book:"

Thanks for stopping by!  I can't wait to see everyone's creations, we are on vacation today but I'll be blog hopping soon!

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the July 2010 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  This month, the challenge was to use office supplies in your project--things like paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, file folders, staples, binder rings, adhesive labels, post-it notes, and so on--you get the idea.  I have to admit, this challenge was exactly that--a challenge!  It was fun to see what office supplies were hidden in various places in the house, but a little harder to figure out how to use them!  So here is what I came up with:

"Notes"
I revisited several of the design team members' blogs from when they introduced "Take Note," and found that Lauren Meader had created a really cute notebook, and provided dimensions.  So I used her template to come up with this little notebook.

Opening the notebook

Back of notebook

These pictures show some other views of the notebook, specifically the view from the back, and the view as you open up the first flap of the notebook.

Betsy Veldman made this notebook and had such cute stamping inside I decided to try it!

This final picture shows the view when you completely open up the notebook, and the two different notepads featured inside.  I thought this would be a cute notebook to give as a gift to a busy Mom to keep in her purse, to help remember the millions of things Moms have to remember!

Supplies:

Stamps:  Take Note, Tags of Spring, Egg Hunt (PTI)
Ink:  True Black, Dark Chocolate, Smokey Shadow (PTI), Bamboo Leaves, Rose bud (Memento)
Cardstock:  Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Bitty Dots (PTI)
Accessories:  Misc. Office Supplies from around the house!

And before you continue on the hop, my daughters also wanted to try this challenge:

My Daughter K's Card
"You've Got Mail"

Supplies (all PTI unless otherwise noted):
Stamps:  Vintage Picnic, Vintage Picnic Sentiments, Mailbox Greetings
Ink:  Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Danube Blue (Memento)
Cardstock:  Spring Rain, Vintage Picnic
Accessories:  Copic Markers, misc. office supplies

My Daughter J's Card
"Take Note"
Supplies:
Stamps:  Take Note (PTI)
Ink:  Lovely Lilac (SU)
Cardstock:  SU
Accessories:  Misc. Office Supplies, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Thank you so much for stopping by--we hope you enjoy the hop tonight!  I can't wait to see what everyone has created!
