TESC #80!

Greetings!

Here is my version of Taylor's Sketch Challenge, #80! This is for my nephew's first birthday-- the invitation was all cupcakes, so of course the card needed a cupcake too!

To make the cupcake circle, I tried a variation of an idea I saw on Heather Nichols' blog here. I just stamped my cupcake, colored it, etc. and then inked the whole front with Versamark. Then I covered it with iridescent ice embossing powder from Stampin Up to get the sparkly effect.

Stamps: Wagonful of Fun (SU), For the Love of Cupcakes (TE), Polka Dot Basics (PTI)
Ink: Enchanted Evening, True Black, Fresh Snow (PTI)
Cardstock: Enchanted Evening (PTI), misc. patterned paper
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (SU), rickrack (CTMH)

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop!

Here we are for another round of the PTI Blog Hop! Last month was so much fun, and everyone left such sweet comments--thank you so much! This month's challenge was to celebrate Autumn and to create something inspired by Fall--whether it be Fall colors, Fall holidays, etc. The challenge also wanted us to step outside our comfort zone and use fabrics, stitching, or things we don't normally use. My daughters and I all played along this month (have to get in that last crafting before school starts), here is what we created:

EDITED TO ADD: Today is my Mom's Birthday, so I just wanted to say a big Happy Birthday Mom!

Back from Vacation with Some New PJs

Hello Everyone! I just saw that we haven't posted since Aug. 4th--wow! We went on vacation, then it took us a week to recover from vacation!

Well, today we are back with lots of stuff to share. My girls both have and love their American girl dolls, and have been wanting some summer pajamas. So with the summer almost over I sat down to see if I could put something together for them. Here is my attempt!

Thanks for stopping by--tonight we'll be participating in the PTI Blog Hop!

TECC 76

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to take a minute and upload my card this week for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. This week's sketch was really fun--I have seen Dawn McVey talk in her blog about using the clear embossing powder with polka dots (here's an example) and I wanted to try it. I have to say I think it looks kinda cool! Thanks for looking, and have fun with next week's challenge--I won't be able to play along, will be off having fun with the kids!

Stamps: Doctor's Orders (TE), Polka Dot Basics (PTI)
Ink: True Black (PTI)
Paper: Smokey Shadow, Scarlet Jewel, Soft Stone, and Enchanted Evening (PTI)
Accessories: Ribbon (PTI), Embossing Powder (SU)

EDITED TO ADD: My daughters had a chance to play along, and wanted me to include their cards as well!

First up is J's card, she had fun using Taylor's Sweet Celebration set!

Next up is K's card, and she used Taylor's Beary Special set (both my girls really like Taylor's stamps :) ).

Thanks for stopping by!
