The Christmas Card Gift Sets

I know, it is January. . . . but I still thought it might be fun to post the end of the Christmas gift card sets I gave as Christmas gifts.  And I did finish them before Christmas!  If you have no idea what I am talking about, during some earlier blog hops I showed some cards I was making for gift sets.  Each year, for my family members, I pick a stamp set, some patterned paper, etc. and make a coordinating card set.  I showed the first three cards in previous blog posts:  the first one is here, and the second and third one are here.

Here is card #4:

Celebrate

And here is the inside of the card:
Stamps:  Sweet Occassions (TE)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Harvest Gold, Vintage Cream, Simply Charteruse (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Chloe's Closet (Making Memories)
Accessories:  Flower, Button (Making Memories), Ribbon, Liquid Pearls, Copic Markers

All of the cards were packaged in a recycled PTI Stamp Box . . .
and I used some ribbon, Making Memories flowers and paper, and a brad to decorate it.  The dangling snowflake tag was made with a Stampin Up stamp and had To and From stamped on the back of it.

The last Christmas gift that I wanted to share with you was inspired by a Stampin Up stamp set.  I was already planning on knitting some slippers for Christmas gifts, and when I saw the set "Hand Knit" I decided to knit a few more and make some cute tags to go with them.

Thanks so much for reading this far!  Until next time . . . .

Cute Packaging!

One of the things I did this year for Christmas and my sister-in-law's birthday in January is try to dress up gift cards.  Taylor of Taylored Expressions has some really cute sets and containers to help with this.  Although I forgot to take a picture of the one using Taylor's set, here are two examples of some dressed up gift cards:

Christmas--for Books

Sorry about my editing to remove the name--I'm still learning!

Stamps:  All Booked Up (PTI)
Ink:  Enchanted Evening (PTI), Rhubarb Stalk (Memento)
Cardstock:  Vintage Cream (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Bitty Dots (PTI)
Accessories:  Taffeta Ribbon (Stampin Up)

Cupcake Birthday

Stamps:  Vintage Labels (PTI), For the Love of Cupcakes (TE)
Ink:  Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Accessories:  Patterned Paper, Ribbon (SU), cupcakes (Martha Stewart)

These were fun and simple to make, and I think they dressed up the gift card giving just a little!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time . . . .

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 Everyone!  I apologize for not posting sooner on my blog, between the holidays and being sick, it's been a busy time!  And you know it's time to rest when the doctor says can your mom come and help you for the entire week, so you actually get some rest.  But I think everything is back to normal now, the kids go back to school tomorrow, and I have lots of things to share.

Today, I'd like to share some wedding cards I made back in November.  My Mom and I both attended this wedding and needed some cards, so . . . .

On Your Wedding Day

I got the inspiration for this card from something I made at my Stampin Up Demo's Stamp class a while ago . . . . the vellum, glitter, and embossing make for a quick card!
Stamps:  Year of Flowers:  Roses (PTI)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Stampin Up
Accessories:  Sizzix Embossing Folder, Glitter, Rhinestones

Happily Ever After
This card  is totally copied from a card I made at my SU demo's stamp class . . . I just thought it was the cutest thing ever.  At this point I needed to leave for the wedding in 20 minutes and still needed to jump in the shower, so I copied and went!
Stamps:  Wishing You (PTI)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Stamper's Select White, True Black (PTI)
Accessories:  Glitter Paper, Ribbon, Embossing Folders, Black Sparkle Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Scallop Border Punch

Hope you are enjoying your January . . . will be back soon with more projects to share!

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop November 2010

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past November Blog Hop!  The theme this month is Autumn/Thankful, and Sankari once again provided us with a really fun sketch:

I don't have any Thanksgiving or Autumn TE stamps, so I decided to use the tree from "In the Park" and put it in the fall season.  I chalked the leaves, but used Copic markers for the trunk of the tree (and tried to make it look like various textures).  I couldn't resist adding in the little dog, he's just too cute, and added some glittery leaves I cut out for the three little elements.

Happy Fall!

Stamps:  In the Park (TE)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Pumpkin Spice (Gina K), Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  Autumn Abundance (PTI)
Accessories:  Glitter (MM), chalk, ribbon (SU), copic markers

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I can't wait to see everyone's beautiful creations, and I also wanted to wish all our US friends a Happy Thanksgiving next week!

Tag--You're It! WMS Christmas Challenge 2010

Hello Everyone,

It is November already--can you believe it?  To get ready for the holidays, Claire at Waltzingmouse Stamps has a great challenge--the Tag, You're It!  Christmas Challenge 2010.  The challenge is to make an elegant, classy type of Christmas tag.  So here is what I came up with:

Merry Christmas

I found this cool tag shape on one of my Cricut cartridges.  I paper pieced the stocking and then added some iridesent ice embossing powder to make it look sparkly.  I then found some pretty ribbon with the same iridescent edging and thought it would coordinate.  I also edged the fine linen tag with some tea ink to finish it off.

Stamps:  Sewing Box Christmas (WMS)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Fine Linen, Pinefeather, Stamper's Select White (PTI); Cherry Cobbler (SU)
Patterned Paper:  Making Memories
Accessories:  Ribbon (Michaels, Making Memories); Brad (Making Memories); Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
