Hello Friends!
Well, I wanted to make something for Taylor's Calendar Challenge when I first saw the challenge up on her blog way back in January. I thought they would make great Christmas presents in December! So I started thinking, how could I make some cute calendars that my family would actually use? My family was kind of challenging on that one. A few months later, I had an idea--what about refrigerator calendars? Something cute, that you could hang on the frig with a cute magnet and change out every month. And Taylor has these great 6 X 6 calendars that you can download here that would work perfectly! Then life got busy with the kids and their activities, and before I knew it summer was here. I had some time and decided to start making up my calendars--they are really fun to make! And I blinked again and all of a sudden it is now October and I haven't posted anything I've made for this challenge, even though I have made several months! So here it finally goes:
So my idea started with the refrigerator. My first step was to go off to the Container Store and find these cute magnets (and they do come in many colors, my gift recipients just all happen to have white refrigerators). You can find these magnets here.
The next step was to figure out how to make a holder for the calendars. What I did was to take a 6 X 6 page protector and cut off the holes. I then added some ribbon and flowers, and punched new holes to add a ribbon tie. Now I had a protector ready for my calendars.
I have three different versions, as I am making three Christmas presents. I do have to apologize, I took these pictures with the calendars hanging on my frig, and the lighting was a challenge. The flash kept reflecting off . . . .

And with a green flower and green trim.
So this is my January page! I have this set of little Doodlebug stamps that I have been using to add fun details to the days--there is a party hat on the 1st for New Years, a cake on the 4th on one for a birthday . . . just to be fun.
Stamps: Holiday Wonder (TE), Every Occassion Icons (Doodlebug)
Paper: Patterned--Pebbles, Cardstock--PTI
Fun Details: Ribbon (American Crafts), Snowflake (Making Memories), Silver Embossing Powder (Michaels)
Please stop by soon to see February . . . .thanks for visiting!
Chris
