Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop March 2011

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions Blog Hop!  This month's theme was Spring (sure wishing it looked "Springy" here!) and Taylor's set For Peeps was the first thing that popped into my head.  Sankari provided us with a fun sketch as well:

I chose to make my side pieces like little banners, and then I replaced the circle on the bottom with a bow for my ribbon (the circle just didn't seem to work for me!).

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  For February, the challenge was to play with scallops.  I decided to be practical this month and combine this challenge with my daughter's birthday party Saturday--so the treat bags have some scallops!  I actually made 10 of these in all, here are two of them:

Party Time!

I used  the large PTI scallop border, then flipped it over and die cut again to make the scalloped strip, then added some ribbon.  I also used the Nestabilities Big Scallop Circles to cut the center piece, and of course I had to use Tiny Treats Birthday!  Here is a close up of my daughter's bag:
I added a twine bow and we had some goody bags!  I made each one different because I had to try out as many Tiny Treats images as possible!

Stamps:  Tiny Treats Birthday (PTI)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Kraft, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  American Girl (EK Success)
Accessories:  Ribbon, Twine (PTI); Copic Markers

Now my older daughter K (not the one having a birthday party tomorrow) also wanted to try the challenge:

Soaring By to Say Hi
She had so much fun making the scalloped grass!

Stamps:  Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Ink:  Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Cardstock:  Blueberry Sky, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream (PTI)
Accessories:  Buttons (PTI)

Thanks so much for stopping by our blog today!  I can't wait to hop and see everyone's creations (after the birthday party of course!)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop February 2011

The theme for this month's Taylored Expressions Blog Hop is Goin' Green!  We could choose to either use something recycled on our card or just use lots of green!  I chose to use lots of green and create a fun birthday card.  I also used this great sketch from Sankari:

Happy Birthday
I used some fun American Girl paper and I hope the effect is bright and cheery!  There is actually glitter on the cake ribbon, candle flames, and Cuppie's cherry on his head.  It is has much more sparkle in person.

Stamps:  Sweet Celebrations (TE)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock:  Harvest Gold, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Patterned Paper:  EK Success (American Girl)
Accessories:  Buttons (Michaels), Glitter (Doodlebug, MM), Copic Markers

My younger daughter J also wanted to play along with the challenge:

Sending You Sunshine
Stamps:  Garden Party (TE)
Ink:  Memento
Cardstock:  Simply Chartreuse, Vintage Cream (PTI)
Accessories:  Taylor's Tiny Twinkles

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  The members of the hop are listed below.  Can't wait to hop myself, but I will have to wait until Sunday!  My daughter J (whose card is above) is having her birthday party this weekend!  So may you have a party filled weekend as well!

Happy Hopping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps February Blog Waltz

Welcome friends!  This month's Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz features buttons, so I started with Sewing Box Hugs.  I paper pieced the house, and I tried weaving my ribbon through the lace--I saw this on someone's blog and it looked so neat I had to try it!  And with a theme of buttons, I thought the button brad was perfect for a door knob.
